Salad dressings don’t always need to be a simple vinaigrette. Try a more flavorful option like this Lemon Tahini Dressing that uses tahini for the base.  

Tahini is essentially toasted, ground sesame seeds mixed with oil to create a thick, creamy paste. It’s a good source of healthy fats, magnesium, and calcium—nutrients critical for bone health, particularly as women age and become more susceptible to osteoporosis.1 

The addition of garlic not only enhances flavor naturally but also contributes antimicrobial and cardiovascular benefits. Studies have shown the use of dietary garlic to support healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels while modulating immune responses.2 

This savory Lemon Tahini Dressing pairs perfectly with dark leafy greens and sweet fruits for a balanced, sweet-and-savory salad. It can also make for a tasty addition to any power bowl with veggies, nuts, and your choice of protein. You could also use this dressing and mix it with roasted pine nuts, avocado oil, and roasted beets in a food processor to create a delicious Beet Hummus. 


TIP: Add more water to thin the consistency of the dressing if needed.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cups tahini

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1 clove garlic, finley grated or minced

Directions

  1. Whisk together tahini, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, oil, water, and minced garlic.

  2. Store in a tightly sealed Mason jar for up to one week.
