The main ingredients in this salsa offer a variety of health benefits. Strawberries are rich in flavonoids, which may help boost memory by reducing brain inflammation, and they’re packed with heart-healthy nutrients, too. Another powerhouse ingredient, avocado, is loaded with B vitamins that can enhance mood, along with vitamin K, which supports bone strength.

Strawberry Salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado, diced

  • 1/2 red onion, diced

  • 1 bunch basil, chopped

  • 2 cups strawberries, diced

  • 1/4 tsp pepper (AIP – omit)

  • 1 lime, zested and juiced

  • 1 jalapeño, diced

  • Honey, for garnish

Directions

  1. Throw avocado, red onion, basil, strawberries, pepper, lime juice, and jalapeño into a bowl and mix.

  2. Drizzle honey on top, and sprinkle on lime zest.
