Cajun seasoning is a versatile spice mix to have on hand for recipes. You can use it to season meats and seafood, add flavor to soups or sauces, or include in grain-free breadings.
Storebought specialty seasonings can get expensive, which is why we made this Cajun Seasoning recipe that you can make at home in under 5 minutes. Better yet, you probably already have all the ingredients in your pantry.

Practically, it’s best to store your homemade spice blend in a container with a sifting cap for easy use. For a more sustainable option, repurpose an empty glass spice jar instead of discarding it. Be sure to thoroughly sanitize the jar by boiling it in water and remove any old stickers or branding for a clean, polished look. If any sticky residue remains, scrub it off using rubbing alcohol, warm water, and soap.
Feel free to mix and match any Paleo spices that you want in your Cajun Seasoning. We recommend adding white pepper, red pepper flakes, or chile powder for those who really like to spice things up.
TIP: This recipe is not recommended for those on an autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet because of the multiple non-AIP compliant ingredients*.
