

This protein-rich Ground Beef Protein Bowl is the perfect quick and easy lunch for busy days when you’re working, running errands, or just navigating a hectic schedule. It includes all the hearty cheeseburger bowl ingredients minus the bun and cheese.
The Paleo Diet® omits all dairy products, including cheese. Dr. Loren Cordain, founder of The Paleo Diet, explains that humans are the only mammals that regularly consume the milk of another species, making dairy consumption arguably unnatural. Think of it this way: when a woman becomes pregnant, her baby drinks her milk because it’s specifically designed to provide nutrients to a human infant.
However, if you do want to add cheese to your burger bowl, you can enjoy this meal as part of our 85/15 principle. This means that 85% of your meals are from Paleo foods, while the other 15% can be from non-Paleo foods. If you want cheese on your Ground Beef Protein Bowl, just count it as one of your flex meals for the week.
If you plan to enjoy this burger bowl for lunch the next day, we recommend storing the ground beef separately from the rest of the ingredients. When you’re ready to eat, simply reheat the ground beef in the microwave in 30-second increments, let cool slightly, then mix everything together and enjoy!
TIPS:
- Skip the storebought and make your own Paleo pickles, ketchup, and mustard beforehand.
- To get the perfect drizzle, mix the ketchup and mustard together and add a teaspoon of water at a time until the sauces are thin enough to pour over the bowls.

Ground Beef Protein Bowls

Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef
1/2 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
4 cups shredded lettuce
1 red onion, diced
1 cups cherry tomatoes, diced
2 avocados, diced
1/2 cups Paleo pickles, diced
1/2 cups Paleo ketchup
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
Directions
Heat olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and season with black pepper, and onion powder. Break meat into pieces and cook for 10 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
Between 4 bowls, add lettuce, onion, tomatoes, avocado, and pickles. Top with ground beef and drizzle with Paleo ketchup and mustard to taste.
