On hot summer days and warm evenings, you don’t need alcohol dehydrating you. With a non-alcoholic honeydew watermelon cocktail, you can enjoy the unique taste of a crafted beverage without the negative side effects.
Electrolyte-rich honeydew and watermelon make the refreshing base of this mocktail. Then we round out the flavors with muddled mint and blackberries and a touch of naturally sweet lychee juice. All these main ingredients provide a variety of healthy antioxidants:
- Watermelon gets its red flesh from lycopene, which has the potential to reduce bad cholesterol levels and improve good cholesterol.
Blackberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, supporting collagen formation for healthy skin. - The two flavonoids in lychee—epicatechin and rutin—may reduce the risk of heart disease and other chronic disorders.
- Mint contains rosmarinic acid, a polyphenol with potential anti-inflammatory properties.
- Honeydew is packed with the most antioxidants out of them all, with over 50% of reference daily intake of vitamin C in one cup, plus lutein and zeaxanthin to support eye health.
TIP: Use a melon baller to carve out watermelon and honeydew spheres as garnishes. Float them in your honeydew watermelon cocktail or slide onto a cocktail skewer for an elevated look.
