This cold digestif mocktail is a great alternative for those who want to skip alcohol while still enjoying a sophisticated post-meal beverage. It’s easy to prepare with simple, fresh ingredients and provides a natural way to support digestion after a meal.
Dandelion root bitters are at the heart of this mocktail, helping to support liver function and stimulate bile production—key for breaking down fats. Combined with fresh lemon juice and unsweetened cranberry juice, this drink provides a tart, astringent kick that helps balance the heaviness of rich meals.

To enhance the flavor and ensure a cool, refreshing drink, prepare the dandelion tea ahead of time and let it fully cool before mixing. You can adjust the bitterness to your liking by altering the amount of bitters or tea, making it customizable for different tastes. Garnishing with lemon slices or cranberries adds a nice pop of color and enhances the citrusy flavors.
TIPS:
- If you can’t find dandelion root bitters, use concentrated dandelion tea instead: Steep two bags of dandelion tea in 4 ounces of hot water for 10 minutes and let cool.
- Consider making this digestif as a large batch mocktail and make ice cubes out of this recipe in order to avoid diluting the beverage with ice.
