Bored of the same, old green juice routine? Try our 2-in-1 Berry Broccoli Smoothie. Instead of adding the usual broccoli florets, this recipe calls for broccoli microgreens that give this smoothie added nutritious, energizing properties to keep you powered all day long.
We use almond milk as the base for this smoothie and recommend homemade almond milk to avoid unwanted additives found in store-bought options. It may sound complicated, but it’s surprisingly simple: soak almonds overnight, strain, blend with your preferred flavors, and strain out the bits.
Still hung up on our choice of greens for this recipe? Don’t let the broccoli deter you! Broccoli microgreens add a subtly sweet and mildly bitter flavor to the mix along with tons of nutrients. In fact, these small greens are nutrient-dense and contain tons of health benefits like immune and blood sugar support. [1,2] It takes only 1 tray of microgreens to bring this smoothie to life, which amounts to about 1 cup when trimmed.
TIP: Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) omissions and substitutions are listed in the recipe ingredients.
