Lost Almost 40 lbs on The Paleo Diet


I have been on the Paleo diet for 1 year. My weight when I started was 262 pounds. I now weigh 226 pounds. My wife knew I wanted and needed to lose weight and did research on the Paleo diet. She is a wonderful cook and came up with great meals using Paleo recipes. I have been on what seems like every diet known to man with limited success. I now consider it a lifestyle not necessarily a diet. People ask me all the time how I lost so much weight and I proudly say the Paleo diet. Yes there are sacrifices but with these results it is more than worth it. My doctor said that my bloodwork shows how well I have done as well, in all areas.

I started a modified paleo/keto lifestyle change about a year ago and have come down from 197 to 162….My waist has shrunken from 36 to 32…..I have more energy than I ever remembering having and I am 69….If you only decide not to bring bread or pasta into your house, that is a start…Then you can gradually move into a paleo lifestyle….and if you add organic and free range…you are cutting way down on your chemical intake……”Let food be thy medicine ” Your choices are eating delicious good tasting nutritious food or going to the doctor to treat symptoms…..I choose organic vegs and fruits and free range meats and I will eat this way forever……Look at it this way, what would happened if you put 50 octane gas in your car instead of 87…It would sputter and die…Our bodies are amazing , but putting 50 octane food in your system and expecting optimum results is well………………………………………you decide

  2. This was my experience too with the Paleo diet – lost 42 pounds (from 234 to 192) in 9 months. I also needed to keep the carbs reasonably low – meaning very moderate fruit consumption (some berries, occasional apples but no tropical fruits). I am still 192 and it’s 9 months later and my health is good. My diet is moderate fruit, moderate protein and lots of vegetables – a healthy diet and an enjoyable, sustainable lifestyle.
