Meet The Expert

What makes you an expert on The Paleo Diet?

My background in research and endurance sports has helped me gain a critical eye for fact-based scientific principles. While I'm not a nutrition expert, I understand the discipline and rigor it takes to create lasting contributions to science.

Describe the impact The Paleo Diet has had on your life?

As someone who appreciates scientific analysis, The Paleo Diet has helped me critically think about the choices I make when it comes to the foods I eat, the sources of ingredients, and the health benefits of doing so.

What does “healthy living” mean to you? And what is your favorite "cheat" food?

Health is not just about diet, but an entire way of life. For me that includes copious amounts of nutrient-rich foods, adventurous bike rides and hikes, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends that bring joy to my life. When I need to cheat and splurge, I always turn to chocolate.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not writing for The Paleo Diet?

I love all types of bikes, and have raced and ridden throughout the United States, Europe, as well as other parts of the world. I can't travel enough. And what's a good adventure if it isn't shared? I do all these things as much as possible with my wife and daughter.
