Dr. Loren Cordain Responds To Criticisms Of Paleo By WAPF’s Sally Fallon

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jimmy Moore, inspiring author and host of The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show to discuss the recent incendiary remarks presented by The Weston A. Price Foundation President, Sally Fallon Morell in the WAPF Quarterly and later in last month’s podcast on the lack of animal-based fats prescribed by The Paleo Diet.

Paleo has caught momentum with the masses, and while criticisms may fly in left and right, the majority of claims lack scientific backing. I have made it clear in scientific literature as far back as 2006 that my views on saturated fats have changed substantially since the publication of The Paleo Diet and in my paper titled “Saturated Fat Consumption in Ancestral Human Diets: Implications for Contemporary Intakes.”

Keeping the Paleo community aware is my prerogative. Trust is earned. There is no side stepping or jumping to conclusions. Only hard, scientific evidence. I have written an entire chapter on saturated fats in my latest book, The Paleo Answer, which further explains my dramatically changed position, and my clear support for saturated fat, the natural macronutrient make-up of our hunter-gatherer ancestors diet.
